MODO~Vintage Elegant Lolita Three-buckle Mary Janes Shining Shoes

Originally I was going to get the brown pair but customer services reached out to me within a day or two to let me know they were out of stock. Communication was really well done and I was able to adjust my order to burgandy with no problem. I did the longer shipping time and it came as expected, around 4 weeks. The shoes themselves, I'm SO in love with them! They fit great, comfortable, and they look sooo good! The quality of the shoes are top notch and beautiful. All in all, fantastic!!

Bought the Brown colorway with the 5.8cm heel in a size 40. I tend to lie between a 7.5 and 8 US size. The style is very nice and are made well enough where they should last me a while. When I tried them on, they were very comfortable. More comfortable than a regular lolita shoe and I was able to walk around in them for a while without any issue.

I originally ordered these with a longer shipping method, decided I wanted to change and the customer service was amazing! They made it extremely easy, and replied within the day to let me know where my items where and when they would be shipped out. Sadly though, the shoes themselves are much lower quality than I was expecting. When they arrived to me the sole of the right shoe was already not fully glued on, so it leaves about a centimeter wide gap between the shoe and the sole at the front. It was sadly disappointing, as I had very high hopes.

I got these in red and the color is a beautiful deep blood red, exactly the level of baroque drama I was looking for.

Think about the size and shape of the shoe before buying it - these are made of a faux leather that is pretty soft and thin but has no give at all, so there is a small extent to which the body of the shoe will mold to your foot, but there is no stretch whatsoever: you need to rely on the straps to fine-tune the fit, and those only help you with the fit over the top of your foot.

I knew when buying these that I was going to have to size up because this style of shoe is fairly narrow, with a very pointed toe box, and my feet are very triangular - wide in the front but tiny in the heel. I'm normally a size 39-40, foot length 24.5cm, but my foot width is 10cm when 39-40 width is usually 9-9.5, so I sized up to a 41 to be safe. It's still very snug - the front of the shoe presses into my foot, but not so tightly as to cut in. There isn't much toe room. My toes also come up just half a centimeter from the tip of the shoe, so it's not quite as long as the sizing says.

My advice: if you have very narrow feet, buy the size that matches the length of your foot. If you have average feet, size up by one. If you have wide feet, size up by two.

It's actually quite easy to walk around in them, they're a bit uncomfortable but not painful. I was worried that sizing up would make the heel too big and that my heel would slip out of them, but thanks to the ankle strap there's actually very little slippage. This isn't the style I'd normally wear with socks, but I tried walking in them with both thin and thick socks anyway and it not only surprised me that the thick socks didn't make it harder to fit in the shoe, it also stopped the heel slippage entirely. I'll probably wear these with stirrup knee socks that leave the toe open. I could easily stand or sit in these for hours, but I wouldn't walk more than 30 minutes in them as I can tell they would blister the toes very quickly, so these are more for events than for days out.

All in all, these are gorgeous and I'm very happy to own them. The hardware and stitching is about as solid as you can ask for at this price, and the heels are very sturdy and comfortable (I wouldn't crouch in them as it seems like that would break the stitching at the soles, but they are safe and easy to slav squat in). The soles aren't too thin and the hidden buttons on the buckles don't pop open as you walk. I think the material will get very creased and wrinkled with wear, but I think that will actually complement the antique style.

I bought the shoes in colour milky white. It's a very light off white (see photos against white cardboard and white cat fur).

The shoes are very pretty and well made. The sole is not padded but it's still pretty comfortable so far.

The buckle are fake and they are actually snap buttons (see photos).

I will definitely wear the shoes a lot!

One reviewer mentioned the topmost strap was to small for their ankles so I've provided measurement in the photos. They fit my 24cm ankles without problems and with some extra room.

If you plan to buy these shoes DO NOT follow the size chart on 42lolita. It's completely off. I'm a US size 8 (EU 39, 24.5cm) and I purchased size 39. It fits a bit snuggly, I could probably have gone with 40.
Had I followed their chart, I would've bought size 37 which would definitely not have fit my feet.

I have pretty narrow ankles, but the top buckle is tight on these shoes. I will have to add an extra hole on both of the top buckles so that I can wear them comfortably. Other than that, they are well made with a cushioned sole. I got the off-white pair for versatility with outfits.
