I’d been looking to get my first jsk for a while but since I’m kinda picky I’d never found one I really loved that wasn’t way out of my budget, that is until this I found this one. I love Halloween it’s the highlight of my year (and yes I’m totally someone who would wear Halloween themed stuff in the summer lol) so when I found a Halloween jsk in purple (I love purple) at an affordable price I knew this was the one (also the cute kitty print was an added bonus :D)
~{shipping}~
I ordered this jsk on the 11th November and it arrived the 20th December, so a bit over a month but considering that this is around the time when postage services are flooded with Christmas gifts I’d say that’s a pretty good shipping time
~{sizing}~
I got a size small and for reference I'm 5’ without shoes, my chest is 86cm and waist is 76cm. For me the small was just about perfect and a large would have definitely been too long since the small goes a bit over my knees (but I don’t mind this, I like it when it’s a bit long). The chest was a perfect fit due to the back shirring having a lot of stretch. The straps are adjustable via connecting with buttons in the back giving you two options of strap length but I didn’t need to put them on the longer one since I am short. One thing I will mention is that the waist seam is not stretchy and since I’m not the shape of a stick figure it does pinch in a tiny tiny little bit but I’m sure when I wear it out with a blouse or shirt I won’t even feel it. Also the waist bow isn’t detachable but the waist ties are via buttons.
~{material quality}~
The jsk is made from a nice lightweight fabric, I don’t think it’s a natural fibre so it does have that smooth feeling but in no way is it shiny or cheap looking like those cheap Halloween costumes. Both the lining (made of a polyester cotton according to the description) are non stretch but like I said before the back shirring is doing a lot of work. The outside and lining fabrics are thin but if you’re wearing it over a blouse or shirt then I don't think that’s really an issue. The straps, bodice lapels(?), ruffle trim, waist bow and waist ribbons are made of some sort of thin, semi transparent fabric probably something like crêpe (it’s like that slightly textured fabric they use for women’s blouse sometimes) making the ruffle trim loosely ruffled but I actually like this.
Overall I feel the quality is very good even though there were a few small threads but that’s to be expected of any piece of clothing and these can be removed or carefully trimmed down and idk if I just got lucky or all of them are like this but even the pattern matching on the skirt section is pretty good (I had no cut in half kitty’s) so that’s I nice added bonus
I’m very happy with this as my first jsk and can’t wait to make some coords with it :)
Also 42lolita sent me a bonus gift of some ankle length socks with black flowers on them and that’s really nice, like they didn’t have to do that but it was a really nice surprise :) so thanks 42lolita
Anyways I hope this review (/mini essay) is useful for anyone considering buying this jsk or ordering from 42lolita
