Dear Customers,
An additional €2 EU customs handling fee per declared product category is expected to apply from November 1, 2026, to orders shipped to the EU from outside the EU.
📦 What does this mean?
For parcels with a goods value of €150 or less that qualify for the temporary flat-rate duty:
-
€3 customs duty + €2 EU handling fee = €5 per declared product category, plus applicable VAT.
Charges are based on declared product categories (HS codes), not the number of individual items. For example, two identical dresses declared under one category incur €5; a dress and shoes declared under two categories incur €10. VAT applies in both cases.
For parcels with a goods value above €150, normal customs duty rates apply instead of the €3 flat-rate duty, plus the €2 handling fee per declared product category and applicable VAT.
🚚 How does this affect your order?
We currently have two shipping channels to the EU, and the impact differs:
1. Yanwen Channel (DDP tax-included channel, no extra payment required upon delivery) ⭐
-
Orders placed on or before October 22, 2026: The new €2 handling fee is covered by our store. Yanwen shipping prices will not increase; Checkout prices remain the same, and there are no extra fees upon delivery.
-
Orders placed from October 23, 2026: Yanwen channel prices will increase, and the new €2 customs fee will be collected in advance with the order. It remains a fully tax-included model, and no further customs fees will be charged upon delivery.
2. DHL / EMS / EYouBao / SAL / Chinese Air
Shipping prices remain unchanged. However, when the package clears customs in the EU, local customs will charge the recipient VAT, the existing €3 fixed duty, and the new €2 handling fee. These fees are collected at the time of delivery.
We still highly recommend the Yanwen channel: all customs fees are settled at checkout, so you don't need to worry about unexpected cash-on-delivery charges.
⚠️ Important Notes
-
Fees are calculated based on the number of HS codes. If a large number of different product categories are placed in one package, the number of HS codes will increase when the customs declaration is filled in, which will lead to higher customs costs. We suggest planning your order accordingly.
❓ FAQ
Q: What exactly is an HS Code?
A: An HS Code is the internationally standardized customs classification code. You can simply understand it as the "product category". Customs charges by product category, not by the number of items. Multiple items of the same product count as one HS code and are charged only once; if a package contains multiple different categories, it will correspond to multiple HS codes, and the fees will accumulate. For example: 3 identical dresses are charged only €5; but 1 dress + 1 blouse + 1 pair of shoes = 3 HS codes, totaling €15.
Q: What is the €5 fee?
A: The €5 is the total customs fee per HS code, made up of two parts: €3 is the temporary fixed duty implemented in the first round of tax reform in July 2026, valid until July 2028; the other €2 is the package handling fee newly added in this second round of tax reform. The two are charged separately, totaling €5 per HS code.
Q: In addition to duties, do I still need to pay VAT?
A: Yes. Under current EU regulations, VAT will continue to apply as before, separate from the new handling fee. This means that when your package enters the EU, VAT may still be charged on top of duties, with the exact amount determined by local customs based on the item value and applicable tax rate.
Q: Will shipping costs increase for DHL / EMS / EYouBao / SAL / Chinese Air?
A: Shipping costs will not increase. However, if the package arrives locally on or after November 1, it will fall under the new tax reform, and the customs duties will increase. This part needs to be paid by you.
Q: Why will Yanwen channel prices increase after October 23, 2026?
A: Because for orders placed from October 23 onward, by the time the package arrives locally for customs clearance, it will definitely be past November 1 and will certainly fall under the new tax reform. The price increase is exactly the €2 per HS code handling fee we pay in advance on your behalf, ensuring you don't need to pay any customs fees upon delivery.
Q: Can I avoid this new handling fee?
A: This is a mandatory EU customs regulation. All eligible inbound packages must pay it, and it cannot be avoided.
Q: How can I contact you for other order questions?
