I've been into Lolita since the early 2010s, but haven't had the self-esteem/money/opportunity to actually wear it until now. This was the dress that really made me fall heads over heels back when it released around 5 years ago, and I thought for sure it'd be impossible to get by now, but lo and behold! Here it is.
The photos really don't do this justice to be honest, it's so beautiful and glittery irl, all the details are crazy. I could gush about this all day, so let me cut it short and just list some of my highlights!
- the print, of course, just stellar (pun intended), fabric feels really nice and comfy, not scratchy at all, and the print feels secure too (not always a given with shiny prints like this; so I'm glad this one feels good!)
- it's so comfy! The back has shirring and you tie it around your waist according to your needs, it's also gonna fit pretty much any blouse underneath
- IT HAS POCKETS
- that star hem; I mean, need I say more? It's made out of a pretty sturdy fabric, so I wouldn't worry much about it getting damaged
- you can also remove the front-bow with the pearls, in case you prefer the dress without it (note that the brooch is oval, not star-shaped like in the pictures, but they do list this in the description)
- honestly just crazy detailed, the lace trim has a star pattern, the bows are made of a shiny black fabric with pretty gold glitter, the waist-band is attached with star shaped buttons too, they're really committed to the aesthetic
- I got the set with the choker, which is also gorgeous and feels pretty sturdy too, not scratchy at all; and ALSO has a little star-charm at the back closure
- you get a cute little matching set of clip-on earrings too! Personally I'm not the biggest fan of clip-ons, I prefer piercings, but it's very easy to swap them out yourself if you've got jewellery making materials at home
- adjustable shoulder straps, the shortest length is still a bit too long for me, but I'm just tiny lol (150cm/4'9"), and it shouldn't be too difficult to add another button hole
Shipping and delivery was really, really fast (though I did splurge on DHL Express), I think I got it around 20 days after I ordered? 42Lolita sent very regular updates and their customer service was overall just lovely and kind.
This was my first coord, my first time ordering at 42Lolita; and rest assured it won't be the last time for either of those! Highly, highly recommend :))
